Excalibur Hotel Casino in Las VegasIt may have been King Arthur who inspired the phrase, “A man’s home is his castle.” It was said the king opened up his fabled castle to royalty and his subjects alike for feasts, celebrations and spectacles of entertainment. Today, that tradition of hospitality continues at Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, where a myriad of entertainment, fine food and comfortable accommodations make for an inviting atmosphere within contemporary castle walls. A fanciful castle topped by spires of many colors and featuring a moat, suits of armor everywhere, and costumed street performers creates a Disney-like ambience. Hotel attractions include the Court Jester's Stage in the Medieval Village shopping/dining arcade, where music, juggling, and other entertainment is offered without charge from afternoon until late night. Excalibur Hotel Casino is a great option for a hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. |

great for kids
if you are in vegas with kids, this is the place to stay. affordable rooms and lots of things to keep the kids occupied. they have a large arcade and lots of kid-friendly shops and restaurants. the best attraction is the dinner show with the jousting knights, a great value. we stayed here a few years ago and we had our grandson with us and he had a great time too. its in a great location, just a short walk to lots of other nearby hotels and not far from the airport so cab fare wont cost you a fortune. Not too impressed with the casino though, never won a thing there, so we usually do most of our gambling either next door at luxor or somewhere else. a very beautiful hotel inside and out though and a great value for vegas travelers, also a very good buffet.
Bang for your Buck
I think this was an ok hotel to stay at as long as you had the flat screen t.v room. I had the standard room first and the beds was nothing but springs so we went to the front desk for an additional fee we were up graded.
You would think that this hotel would be very noisy becaus of it being themed and all. But it wasn't it was very nice and quiet. The resturant in this hotel with the aged steak is just to die for. Nice location and connected to to other hotels that are nice also. So if your looking for something nice and not so expensive this is the hotel for you. I would stay here again in a heart beat......
The Excalibur
The Excalibur has a fantastic location. Right next to the Luxor and Mandalay Bay while close enough to walk to the Venetian or Bellagio with ease. With cheap room rates and a great pool if you are ok staying at a hotel with basic room accommodations then this is a great choice. Gaming might leave something to be desired as the Excalibur has a modest choice of table games, but as I said, with so many other options so close it's really not a big deal.
Poker at the Excalibur
Excalibur was my first home to playing live poker. Back in April of 2008 I took a trip to Las Vegas to meet a group of people. We had planned a poker tourney at another hotel and I was really nervous about it. A few decided to go to the Excalibur and play in a daily tourney they held.
The buy-in was only $35, but the low point was we only got 300 chips. I didn't realize this when I signed up. There were several people in the tourney, but I had no good cards the entire time I was in the game, so did not place in the money, however I did get my first experience of playing a live poker game.
The poker area was small I thought, and it wasn't too long after this that they went to electronic poker tables. I believe they have changed them back to real dealers now though.
I also played some slots while there and I did do some good there, so came out ahead for the day. They had a wide variety of slots around the poker area and ones I enjoy playing a lot.
The distance from the hotel I was staying at was quite a walk there, but rode back. It is located down on the north end of the strip but I got to see a lot more of the Las Vegas strip by walking.
I would definitely go back sometime and play their slots, but probably not play poker.
