Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas

The Orleans is a superior, first class casino hotel located just a mile west of the Las Vegas Strip. This hotel has a New Orleans decor and a Mardi Gras theme. It features a broad variety of entertainment options for the whole family. Aside from offering some of the largest rooms in Las Vegas, the Orleans has a 70 lane bowling center and an 18 screen movie theatre. The hotel hosts boxing matches once a month but nightly entertainment is on hand at their own Cabaret. The Orleans' showroom hosts nationally known performing acts on most nights. Because this hotel offers so many attractions and so much quality at a modest price, it has been alternately called the Best value in Las Vegas and the Best kept secret in Las Vegas.

The Orleans' L shaped guest rooms are the most spacious standard rooms in Las Vegas larger than those in the premium hotels on the Strip. These beautifully appointed rooms have a separate sitting area and are almost like small suites. For dining and leisure, the hotel has six restaurants as well as various cafes and bars. There is a nice pool area, of course, but also a fitness center and an arcade at the Orleans.

For gaming actions, the Orleans full service casino has a 20 table poker room, plus a race and sports book. For those venturing to the strip, the hotel offers a regular, complimentary shuttle, even though guests at the Orleans will find everything under one, roof.

The hotel offers numerous fine dining, gaming and entertainment venues onsite.

Orleans Hotel & Casino is a great option for a hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I love The Orleans! Yes, it is off the strip, but worth the shuttle ride! Rooms are clean and large, great choices for eating, good variety in casino, and easy to find your way around. I've been tempted to try other hotels in other areas of Vegas, but always go back to The Orleans and am never disappointed.

I usually travel alone. I have found the Orleans to be convenient, clean, friendly and very affordable.
They have an excellent variety of places to eat. The security is great. Access to a shuttle that goes to the
strip. Although I love going to the strip it feels great to come back to a more relax atmosphere at the Orleans.
Players club is very good. All in all a very positive place to stay and play.

Nice place, but due for some updating

I've been staying at the Orleans for at least the past 10 years. Every year I visit Las Vegas for a one-week vacation. I've long since tired of the touristy nature of the Strip with too many people, overpriced restaurants, lousy pay tables on slot machines and video poker, as well as table minimums that are too expensive (and rules that are not player friendly). If you want a good deal in Las Vegas, you need to go "off Strip" to one of the local casinos. One of the best, closest, and most affordable, is the Orleans. It's only about a mile west of NYNY / Excalibur corner of the Strip, and hotel provide regular shuttle service to the Strip - which is a nice bonus. The rooms are very large for Las Vegas standards. The bathrooms are located in the rear of each room (not right by the door to the room [which is the standard set-up in most casino or non-casino hotels]) and each has a nice little window in the shower. Not only is it nice if you want some ventilation, but if you have one of the rooms on the Strip-side of the hotel, you get a great view as well (and if you're not on the Strip-side of the hotel, you still get a nice view of the valley and mountains!!!). The casino floor has all the latest machines. The table limits are very affordable, with many $5 tables available. The table rules for blackjack are also more beneficial to the player than the casinos on the Strip. My only complaint - well, as I first mentioned, I've been staying at the Orleans annually for at least the last 10 years. The hotel today is the same hotel I stayed at 10 years ago. The place is starting to get a little worn around the edges - literally. Worn carpeting, stained carpeting, fraying wallpaper, lumpy mattresses, etc. In short, it's time for a major renovation and upgrade to the rooms, the casino floor, the buffet, and the coffeeshop. They recently added some new restaurants in the food court, and updated that area in the process. They also moved the Club Coast players club booth to where Terrible Mike's grille was, so that's new as well. (But I gotta tell ya, I really, really miss the burgers and fries that you could get at Terrible Mike's - those were the ultimate in greasy spoon delights. Perhaps not the greatest for your arteries, but boy were they good.) In short folks, you've got a great hotel and casino here, but it needs to be updated to keep it great.

We have stayed at the Orleans on two occassions and both times enjoyed our sty. The first time we werre unfamiliar with the city and didn't want to rent a car so we used the free shuttle. That worked well but be prepared to wait a while especially when traveling from the stip back to the hotel. We liked having our own car better. The pool area is nice and not crowded. They have a huge selection of food choices. The best part is the room size, for the money you get a very nice room and they were clean except for the carpeting.

Great for families!

The Orleans is a great Vegas hotel for families. The rooms are a bit larger that most. The pool is nice and a manageable size for keeping your eyes on your kids - not a huge complex with many pools like some of the larger resorts. Best of all they have movie theaters and a bowling alley - great for keeping the kids entertained. The restaurants are good, and they do have a fast foodie kind of place if you have one of those kids that only eats french fries... It is not right on the strip, which can be a good thing sometimes. I'm sure they have a shuttle, although I have never been to Vegas without my own car so have never used a shuttle. The rates are very reasonable for the rooms. Get on the email list for specials. They also have some great shows, and the circus has played there in the past - we almost booked just for that but had a conflicting thing going on. I would highly recommend the Orleans for families traveling to Vegas!!!!
