I hit Mon Ami Gabi every time I go to Vegas. I am always drawn in by their delicious french onion soup (the best I've had in town). I love that they give you a warm baguette to start your meal, and I adore the outdoor patio with a view of the Bellagio fountains. The restaurant itself is really cute in a low-key french bistro sort of way.

What I do not love as much is the service. I would say that 80% of the servers I've had there have been cold and not really into their jobs. I have had them become noticeably chilly on the occasions when my party was just ordering appetizers and cocktails, which I find to be ridiculous. Not only will you be able to turn my table over faster, but I'm a good tipper (or, I usually am...no one at MAG has gotten over 20% from me because they didn't deserve it)! I went there for brunch one morning and ordered french toast. When I asked if I might have a side of bacon the guy said "Doubtful. At 10 am you might have a chance, but it's after noon". Then why the hell do you have a brunch menu with french toast on it? He did end up getting me the bacon (which I thanked him profusely for) and the french toast was beyond delicious. Still, I think I should be treated courteously when spending money on a meal, and that hasn't always been the case there.

The bottom line: I will continue to go to MAG because I like the food, but I hope they can get their servers to focus a little more on customer service.

One of the best restaurants in Vegas -- from the amazing, warm and fresh french bread that begins each meal, to the best filet mignon I've ever tasted (order it with the au poivre sauce), to a full list of decadent desserts. Added bonus: request a table to sit out on the patio - it's situated directly across from the famous Bellagio fountain show (it's totally worth the wait, which often exceeds 90 minutes as you can't make a reservation for outdoor seating ... trust me, you won't regret it).
