Cirque du Soleil: KaKA, the unprecedented new theatrical show from Cirque du Soleil at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, brings together astonishing acrobatic performances, the thrills and action of martial arts from all over the world, plus amazing innovations in puppetry, multimedia and pyrotechnics. Together, they tell the epic story of a set of twins on a perilous journey to fulfill their shared destiny. KA brings the visual language of cinema to a dazzling live event that is more about storytelling than any previous Cirque production. The show's underlying theme of duality is underscored by the opposing powers of fire to create and to destroy. You can never feel like you did not get your money’s worth when you attend a Cirque du Soleil show. KA at the MGM Grand is no different and in fact you might come away with a bit more of a story than other shows. This is a performance that takes you through a storyline with acrobatic performers, gymnasts, puppets and a light and music show that wows your senses. You will be impressed and awed. The show's title is inspired by the ancient Egyptian belief in the "ka" an invisible spiritual duplicate of the body which accompanies every human being throughout this life and into the next. The Asian influence of the costumes, the soaring melodies of the original score, the advanced technical effects and the symbolic use of fire makes this a Cirque du Soleil show of new dimensions and soul. Ka is one of the most innovative stage productions ever mounted, and it's impossible to separate Ka the show from Ka the theater, for one would be useless without the other. The multi-million-dollar facility was built for the production, and the set designers' innovative thinking creates radical stage elements and special effects that include flying warriors, huts transformed into birds and battles viewed from above. WhereThe KÀ Theatre at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino Show TimesPerformances are held from Friday through Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. There are no performances on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
