Build It and They Will Come
Las Vegas is the most dynamic city in the world. At last count 46 million people have poured into the city of Las Vegas whether for vacation, business, or a casual weekend.
Even in bad times this city has evolved and managed to “reinvent” itself above all odds making it a gambling mecca and hotspot for dining, shopping and entertainment over the years.
It is unimaginable that hotel after large strip hotel keep expanding their space and building bigger towers to accommodate the influx of tourism. The Venetian, Wynn, Trump, Bellagio, and the new development of the City Center by MGM Mirage is a huge project next to the Bellagio and Monte Carlo. This project is a whopping 7.4 billion dollars in the works on 76 acres at 61 stories and 4000 rooms. What is amazing is the Spa it will be 70,000 square feet.
There is not a three month period go by with out the word of mega resort, or the new fashion is high rise living somewhere in the city. The landscape is always changing on the strip and the old is giving way to the new like the recent Stardust gone to history now awaiting a new mega resort.
New condominium and hotel high rise projects have changed the entire Las Vegas skyline dramatically in recent years. Many large high-rise projects are planned for downtown Las Vegas as well as the Las Vegas Strip.
The “Entertainment Capitol of the World” sits in a desert bowl in the middle of nowhere, who would have ever thought that this would be possible. The Las Vegas strip now has eight of the ten largest hotels in the world.
The city's glamorous image has now made it a popular setting for films, and television programs along with top notch entertainers and celebrities.
If watching the sky over the airport path there is one plane a minute landing at our airport, times that with the average cash of 500-1000 that the tourist brings with him, and we are a cash cow for the casinos, shopping dining and entertainment industry here.
We also can’t forget the Sin City side of Vegas it has also become a huge draw and has pawned the phrase “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas”
Here are some statistics that will show you how strong this Las Vegas economy is and also the figures have never decreased.
