I had the standard room first and the beds was nothing but springs so we went to the front desk for an additional fee we were up graded. You would think that this hotel would be very noisy becaus of it being themed and all. But it wasn't it was very nice and quiet. The resturant in this hotel with the aged steak is just to die for. Nice location and connected to to other hotels that are nice also. So if your looking for something nice and not so expensive this is the hotel for you. Right next to the Luxor and Mandalay Bay while close enough to walk to the Venetian or Bellagio with ease. With cheap room rates and a great pool if you are ok staying at a hotel with basic room accommodations then this is a great choice. Back in April of 2008 I took a trip to Las Vegas to meet a group of people. We had planned a poker tourney at another hotel and I was really nervous about it. A few decided to go to the Excalibur and play in a daily tourney they held. The buy-in was only $35, but the low point was we only got 300 chips. I didn't realize this when I signed up. There were several people in the tourney, but I had no good cards the entire time I was in the game, so did not place in the money, however I did get my first experience of playing a live poker game. The poker area was small I thought, and it wasn't too long after this that they went to electronic poker tables. I believe they have changed them back to real dealers now though. I also played some slots while there and I did do some good there, so came out ahead for the day. They had a wide variety of slots around the poker area and ones I enjoy playing a lot. The distance from the hotel I was staying at was quite a walk there, but rode back. It is located down on the north end of the strip but I got to see a lot more of the Las Vegas strip by walking.
